Rivalry noticed from stressed plants takeover to winning auctioned mines
In a recent interview to a leading business daily, JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal declared he was not perturbed by the number game. It does not sway him if JSW Steel’s ranking is 1, 2 or 3 in the pecking order. But Jindal not a man to be cowered down swiftly added that it is tough to dislodge his company from the top slot for long. Tata Steel’s acquisition of Bhushan Steel may have upset that established pecking order momentarily but Jindal exuded confidence that JSW will reclaim the title sooner than later.
“It is an interesting battle that we have stayed on top of, and it’s exciting because it keeps us on our toes, and that’s good. Tata has the desire to grab top slot and to think that they can buy companies... that may be one way of looking at it, but there’s so much more that has to also play out. Integration, execution and so on…”, Jindal feels.
